The Coalition Director leads the Labor Party's alliance-building efforts, forging strong relationships with unions, community organizations, advocacy groups, and progressive movements to multiply our collective power. You'll coordinate joint campaigns, share resources across organizations, and build the solidarity networks that transform isolated struggles into unified movements for systemic change.
This role combines relationship management, strategic planning, and campaign coordination to ensure the Labor Party operates as part of a broader ecosystem fighting for workers' rights, working closely with the Organizing, Communications, and Leadership teams.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with labor unions, progressive organizations, community groups, and advocacy coalitions
- Identify and cultivate partnerships with aligned organizations for mutual support and shared campaigns
- Coordinate joint actions, campaigns, and mobilizations with coalition partners
- Develop resource-sharing agreements for logistical support, venues, volunteers, and materials
- Align messaging and timing across coalition partners for maximum campaign impact
- Represent the Labor Party in coalition meetings, planning sessions, and alliance gatherings
- Organize solidarity actions supporting union drives, strikes, and community struggles
- Create coalition communication channels for rapid coordination and mutual aid
- Build partnerships with faith communities through social justice initiatives
- Develop issue-based coalitions for specific policy fights and legislative campaigns
- Coordinate cross-promotion of events, actions, and campaigns with allied organizations
- Facilitate joint training sessions and skill-sharing between organizations
- Map community institutions and potential coalition partners in your region
- Conduct relationship mapping to identify key allies and build strategic alliances
- Evaluate coalition effectiveness and strengthen future collaborations through post-action reviews
